The Santorum Tsunami

Gary Bray

If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the LOVE of God be in him? 1 John 3:17

Can you hear us now? The Santorum sweep changes everything in every corner of the political spectrum and especially in the establishments of both Parties. While all of the Punditocracy was writing the obituary of Newt and the Tea Party, the people ignored them and voted. Now we have the anti-Country Club candidates leading the establishment 5-3 while being outspent 7-1. This is a revolt against the eventual collapse of our Country and the revival of the American Spirit.

The NE corridor has no idea of what is happening while ordinary folks know exactly what is going on, they are rejecting McCain and voting in Reagan before it is too late. We now have an old fashioned fight from a bygone era when men had to stand by their convictions as well as paint their vision of America so hard working Americans can understand it and decide if they are legitimate or simply pandering. So far the ordinary people have a clearer vision of who is real and who is phony than the Italian loafer crowd inside the District of Corruption or the Manhattan Landfill. We are seeing why American Conservatism is so special, that you can't buy it or sell it with clichés you have to own it inside your heart to express it so fellow Conservatives can understand it.

These victories cannot be overstated since they explain so many unseen and unknown events which are happening inside the GOP giving us hope. The Tea Party may have stopped having protests and carrying signs in the parks but it has not left the hearts and minds of the people. It has moved from a protest to a philosophy which ignites the passion in the people of this Country. The basic pieces of that philosophy are built around the freedom of the individual as we see people who are enslaved by an overbearing gummit reminding them of an out of control Monarchy. This belief values individual choices that allow people to reach their highest calling whether it be economic, spiritual or academic without the intrusion of a centralized programmer deciding what individuals can and can't achieve. When a candidate articulates that philosophy from their heart rather than a teleprompter Conservatives can hear that dog whistle.

Rick Santorum tapped into that wavelength by explaining he was the only true Conservative in the group while pairing Newt with Romney to set himself apart. This was a brilliant strategy since he can now declare himself the most conservative which will force voters to give him another look while all but destroying Mitt McCain. Now Romney has to fight two fronts as he now has to destroy both Newt and Rick without it backfiring. His biggest risk is that he will look like a carpet bombing liberal who uses these tactics to hide his own moderate record while calling everybody else non-conservative. This victory now has opened a new dawn for Rick and Newt if they play their cards right.

Rick is obviously strong in the Midwest and Rustbelt while Newt will play well in the South. This strategy will force Mitt to spread his money in dozens of states at the same time while Newt and Rick can focus on regional battles diluting his message and time while he is forced to hopscotch and guess which states he can win or lose. This magnifies the obvious weakness that Mitt has and that is his inability to relate to the average person. He has a likability factor that is barely readable and that will become more and more acute as he is forced to make more and more appearances. Having to run around the Country trying to stay in front of the train is going to be seen far more than he or the people would prefer and eventually cost him the nomination. Let's face it, the reason he didn't run for re-election in MA was because he had no chance of winning since the people couldn't stand him after Romneycare. It is not an automatic he wins that state if Rick is still kicking.

We don't know where this election is going or how it will end up. After Rick's sweep it looks a lot more promising than it did two weeks ago as the Tea Party flexed its muscle once again. There is a buzz and an excitement out there as the TP has been organizing and building a grassroots movement which will show up in the ballot box after working their 12 hour days between elections. These hardworking stiffs are who will save this country as they report for duty like fireflies skimming over a shimmering lake waiting for a place to land. You never know where it will be as they light up the night but when they do land together it makes something special to see.

We now have two solid candidates carrying the Tea Party flag into battle against someone the establishmedia tried to promote as a Tea Partier when everybody knew the only Tea Party he has been to required an extended pinky. In the end this election will be decided by We the People of These United States, forming a more perfect union and that is as it should be. When we are done we will have our more perfect union and then go fight the Red Coats who are the real enemies of this country bringing all of our armies to bear. If and when we elect a Conservative patriot we will make the last election look like a day at the beach for commie libs as our Tsunami is building from the Santorum/Gingrich Earthquakes.

Pray for America
