The shameless gall of the Current Marxist Administration Posted: 06 Jul 2010 08:30 PM PDT Here. I've always called a spade, a spade and there's no reason for me to change now. I'm amazed and appalled at the lack of honesty of the current administration. Once more, The Usurper ran on the basis of uniting the country; ending corruption; ending patronage; working together with the opposition; etc., etc. Can anyone show me examples of his keeping any of those promises? I sure would be very grateful. About one and one half years latter, the country is more divided th… ... Please share this with Friends |

The City Council on Tuesday will consider a proposal to place a measure on the November ballot that would levy a 5% tax on medical marijuana collectives. Hard times for Ill., but not for governor's staff Posted: 06 Jul 2010 06:07 PM PDT By JOHN O'CONNOR Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn has handed out raises—some of more than 20 percent—to his staff while proclaiming a message of "shared sacrifice" and planning spending cuts of $1.4 billion because the state is awash in debt. The Democrat has given 43 salary increases averaging 11.4 percent to 35 staffers in the past 15 months, according to an Associated Press analysis of records obtained under the Freedom of Information Act. They include a $24,000-a-year bump for the man... Please share this with Friends |

Five Budget Cuts Congress Hasn't Considered Posted: 06 Jul 2010 05:45 PM PDT Lurita Doan Congress and President Obama talk a good story when discussing the need for federal budget cuts, but Americans will know they are serious when they eliminate certain sacred cows from the federal budget. Over the past 17 months, the Obama Administration has made token attempts at budget cutting, promising cuts tomorrow if all… Please share this with Friends |
Independence and the Right to Private Property Posted: 06 Jul 2010 05:42 PM PDT Joseph C. Phillips The right to private property was one of the central issues involved in the American Revolution. The colonists' cries of "taxation without representation" were but protests of what they saw as an unjust taking of private property. The Declaration of Independence charges the King of England with engaging in 10 acts of abuse, of which half are offenses against private property. Most significantly, the Declaration lists the pursuit of happiness as one of man's primary... Please share this with Friends |
Posted: 06 Jul 2010 05:17 PM PDT Rebecca Hagelin "Tell us about the American miracle." It was in 1983 when West German Chancellor Helmut Kohl spoke those words to President Ronald Reagan. They were gathered at the annual G7 economic summit attended by the heads of the leading industrialized nations. Reagan had succeeded in turning America's ailing economy into a healthy and thriving one, and the leaders wanted to know how he did it. Reagan's policies were defeating inflation and unemployment at… ... Please share this with Friends |
Name One Difference Between World Opinion and Left-Wing Opinion Posted: 06 Jul 2010 05:13 PM PDT Dennis Prager Here's a challenge: Can you name one difference between what the media refer to as "world opinion" and Left-wing opinion? Take all the time you need. But no matter how much time you take, you probably won't come up with any examples. Here are examples of major world issues and what is deemed "world opinion." They happen to all be Leftist views as well. -- hatred of President George W. Bush and admiration of President Barack Obama -- Manmade carbon emissions lead to... Please share this with Friends |
Obama's America is Mexico's de facto penal colony Posted: 06 Jul 2010 05:02 PM PDT by Jim Kouri On the day following the holiday weekend on which Americans celebrated their nation's independence from a foreign country, Attorney General Eric Holder's Justice Department filed its lawsuit against the State of Arizona for daring to pass a law that protects innocent people from criminal aliens, terrorists and other malefactors who violate U.S. immigration laws and live in Arizona illegally. However, in spite of White House rhetoric -- and euphemisms -- and new… ... Please share this with Friends |
In Defense of Free Association Posted: 06 Jul 2010 05:00 PM PDT By Tim Dunkin It was with interest that I read Jamie Freeze's article "In Defense of Helen Thomas," which was published here at Renew America and elsewhere. What grabbed my attention, as was surely intended, was the very counterintuitive nature of the title. A conservative writer, publishing on a conservative website, defending Helen Thomas, whose long career in the Washington press corps came to symb… Please share this with Friends |
America's Great Religious Document Posted: 06 Jul 2010 05:00 PM PDT Phyllis Schlafly Tea Parties and other spontaneous groups of activists are bringing a new appreciation of the U.S. Constitution to grassroots America, so this Fourth of July would be a good occasion to make sure that they also appreciate our other essential founding document, the Declaration of Independence. I urge all to find a copy on the Internet (non-computer-capable old-timers can look for an old world almanac on their bookshelves) and celebrate the holiday by reading the great... Honoring The Artist Of ‘The Prayer At Valley Forge’ Posted: 06 Jul 2010 04:56 PM PDT Few people know the name Arnold Friberg but even fewer could forget the feeling they had when they first saw his painting of George Washington on bended knee in "The Prayer at Valley Forge." Mr Friberg died last week in Salt Lake City at the age of 96. The painting now is on display… Please share this with Friends |
