PDS Has Consumed the MSM

By Doug Patton

Rush Limbaugh has been saying for some time — at least since John McCain put Sarah Palin on the 2008 GOP presidential ticket — that one can always tell whom liberals fear most by the lengths to which they will go to destroy that person. I include in that sweeping indictment today's vacuous, narcissistic, so-called mainstream media, which has been selling its collective soul to the political left for decades now, but which completed the sale when it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Barack Obama's never-ending presidential campaign. Obviously, no person since Ronald Reagan has frightened the political left in this country as has Sarah Palin.

The frenzy being played out recently in the hunt for any scrap of dirt in the e-mails of the former Alaska governor while she was in office would have been amusing had it not been so biased. The double standard applied by these jackals in the national media takes ones breath away. It really is Palin Derangement Syndrome (PDS).

I know, I know. It shouldn't surprise me. This is simply the way of the world in 21st Century America. The more conservative the candidate (and Palin is not yet even a candidate!), the more vociferous will be the media scrutiny. Strike that. This really isn't scrutiny. Scrutiny is looking into legitimate problems or concerns in a person's record or character that would or could reflect on that person's ability to work for the public good. What is being done to Palin is more like a political colonoscopy.

Scandals abound in Washington, D.C. From perverts like Anthony Weiner and vacuous adulterers like John Edwards to hillbilly horn dogs like Bill Clinton (you can send Bubba to Oxford and Yale, but he will still cruise through trailer parks in his Astroturf-lined El Camino). Of course, these people are largely immune from scrutiny because of the progressive political wagons continually encircling them — unless, of course, they are Republicans.

In Weiner's case, the first inclination of the MSM was to accept his absurd story about having had his Twitter account "hacked" and to blame conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart for doing the hacking. Weiner had to spill his guts in a public press conference and then be run over by the bus under which his fellow Dems have now thrown him before the media was willing to change their narrative.

They let Bill Clinton hide for months behind his wife's hysterical "vast, right-wing conspiracy" theory, then when he lied under oath, his buddies in the media and in the U.S. Senate still defended him!

Of course, the most blatant media whitewash of a candidate's record was the sorry case of Barack Obama, the candidate for whom many of the MSM had been waiting their entire elitist careers. Suave, sophisticated, cool — a black combination of Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy — and with the most liberal voting record in the U.S. Senate at a time when that body contained at least one avowed socialist, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont. Close, long-term associations with a virulently anti-Semitic preacher and a self-admitted domestic terrorist were glossed over by most in the MSM.

This brings us back to Sarah Palin, the most dangerous woman in America to their radical, progressive agenda. From the standpoint of the Left, this woman represents a threat to everything they cherish: abortion on demand, homosexual "marriage," the fraud of man-made global warming, their agenda to undermine the First and Second Amendments to the Constitution, a massive welfare state, and the government schools that comprise the indoctrination system designed to keep the progressive house of cards standing. And so she must be destroyed.

And she hasn't even announced that she's running. Just imagine how deranged the media will become if she throws her hat in the ring.
