We're pretty late in posting this (apologies), but there is finally some good nanny state news! Remember the New York Health Department's decision to regulate tag and whiffle ball? Well, the department was so embarrassed by media coverage, that scrapped the laws:
The state Health Department just called to say they are tearing up their controversial list of risky recreational activities that had included such summer classics as Tag, Wiffle Ball, and Steal the Bacon.
"We have eliminated it," said Health Department spokeswoman Claudia Hutton. "Pulverized it."
Something that never needed to be regulated, and now it won't be. Cheers.
