Imagine building your whole career upon the boogieman of "global warming" and then finding out that it's been based on falsified and suppressed information on climate change?
Poor Al Gore must be sweating it out over the Climategate emails and documents posted on the internet in November 2009 – just weeks before the Copenhagen climate change conference.
Gore canceled a speech he was to give in Copenhagen on his Chicken Little beliefs about climate change. The cancellation came after the Climategate emails went viral around the globe.
The Climategate emails and documents are from the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia in the UK. The CRU is the primary source of data on climate change used by Al Gore, the United Nations, every nation, and climate change activists.
The Climategate emails prove that scientists have been systematically faking or suppressing the fact that climate temperatures have been dropping for the past decade – and that temperatures were far warmer in Europe more than a thousand years ago. (It is known as the Medieval Warm Period and lasted from 1000-1300. This was followed by the Little Ice Age.)
Gore doesn't like to answer tough questions from credible climate change skeptics. He prefers to appear on Conan O'Brien, Jay Leno or David Letterman to hit softball questions from his groupies. Even on these shows, he gets his facts wrong. He was on O'Brien's show before Christmas and told the audience that the earth's core is millions of degrees. Wrong: It's 5,000 degrees.
Al Gore has a history of exaggerating the facts or getting them totally wrong. He won an Oscar for his slide-show, which became a movie called "An Inconvenient Truth." Yet, this movie is rife with factual errors and misinterpretations of statistics.
Lord Christopher Monckton, former science advisor to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, is currently traveling the world with his own slide show that debunks Gore's global warming misinformation.
Lord Monckton has also written a detailed analysis of the Climategate scandal which is posted on the ScienceandPublicPolicy.org web site. "Climategate: Caught Green-Handed!" lays out the facts about the significance of these emails to the climate change debate.
Weather Channel founder John Coleman has repeatedly criticized Al Gore and the global warming crowd over their use of seriously flawed data. In January, 2009 Coleman stated: "I am totally convinced there is no scientific basis for any of it [the claim that carbon dioxide causes global warming]. He continued: "Global warming. It is a hoax. It is bad science. It is a high jacking of public policy. It is no joke. It is the greatest scam in history."
Why Are These Emails Important?
The significance of these Climategate emails cannot be underestimated. The United Nations, national leaders, and political leaders in Washington, D.C., use climate change data from the Climate Research Unit to craft legislation and treaties that will impact the economic well-being of every nation on earth.
If the climate change statistics are false, then any decision based on these statistics will be flawed and dangerous to the economic future of the nations of the world.
The United Nations and President Obama were pushing for passage of a treaty on climate change, which would require drastic reductions in greenhouse gases in America and other nations. In addition, the House of Representatives is pushing for passage of a cap and trade bill that will devastate our economy. The treaty and cap and trade bill are based upon false statistics and should be rejected by Congress.
Christopher Horner, an analyst with the Competitive Enterprise Institute, wrote an important book debunking global warming hysteria back in 2006. His book, The Politically Incorrect Guide To Global Warming (And Environmentalism) carefully exposed the global warming scam. His work has been totally confirmed by the exposure of the Climategate emails.
Horner's work is an essential book for anyone who wants to understand what the real goals are of the global warming activists. A hint: The goal is world governance (the current euphemism for world government run by the United Nations).
Where Is Reliable Information?
Climate Change activists have been successful for decades in controlling the debate over global warming and the environment, but the Climategate emails have changed the debate and have undermined this monopoly on information about climate change.
Al Gore loves to say that "the debate is over" on global warming, but clearly it is not. The debate had been controlled by scientists who suppressed facts, shredded documents, vilified critics of global warming, and dominated the peer review process in scientific publications. Their monopoly has ended. Let a real debate begin with honest scientists.
American legislators should immediately stop any attempts to pass legislation based on falsified scientific data on climate change. Every statistic from the CRU in East Anglia is now suspect. Nothing coming from the CRU can be believed as true as a result of this Climategate email scandal.
