SoCal Looks to Secede from California...

Official Calls For Riverside, 12 Other Counties To Secede From California

New state would have no term limits, part-time legislature

Is the state of California about to go "South"?

Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone apparently thinks so, after proposing that the county lead a campaign for as many as 13 Southern California counties to secede from the state.

Stone said in a statement late Thursday that Riverside, Imperial, San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino, Kings, Kern, Fresno, Tulare, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa and Mono counties should form the new state of South California.

The creation of the new state would allow officials to focus on securing borders, balancing budgets, improving schools and creating a vibrant economy, he said.

"Our taxes are too high, our schools don't educate our children well enough, unions and other special interests have more clout in the Legislature than the general public," Stone said in his statement.

He unveiled his proposal on the day Gov. Jerry Brown signed budget legislation that will divert about $14 million in 2011-12 vehicle license fee revenue from four new Riverside County cities.

Officials fear the cut will cripple the new cities of Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Menifee and Wildomar.

Stone said he would present his proposal to the Board of Supervisors July 12.

The new state would have no term limits, only a part-time legislature and limits on property taxes.

"A secessionist movement? What is this, 1860?" Brown spokesman Gil Duran told The Press-Enterprise.

Riverside County Supervisor Bob Buster called Stone's proposal a "crazy distraction."

"We should begin to get our own budget balanced, which we haven't done yet, and put in place some of the reforms we need in this county before we try and go and restructure the government in the great state of California," he told the Press-Enterprise.

"The temperature has gone up in Riverside County and it seems Supervisor Stone has gotten too much sun recently," he added.

Mexican drug cartel message to US agents: 'We are going to chop off your #$&@ heads'...

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico — A spray-painted sign threatening death for U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents was found Friday next to a school in a northern Mexico state capital, officials said.

Addressed with profanity to "Gringos (D.E.A.)," the unsigned graffiti warned: "We know where you are and we know who you are and where you go. We are going to chop off your (expletive) heads."

Anonymous messages conveying threats and other warnings are common in areas hit hard by Mexico's drug war, but it is rarer for them to threaten U.S. law enforcement. Authorities do not know who left the message, which was removed.

The DEA referred questions to the U.S. State Department. Officials there did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The message was left in the Chihuahua state capital, also called Chihuahua, which is about 220 miles (360 kilometers) from the U.S. border.

In February, suspected Zeta cartel members killed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jaime Zapata and wounded colleague Victor Avila on a highway in the Mexican state of San Luis Potosi.

Also on Friday, five copies of a message addressed to Chihuahua Gov. Cesar Duarte were found painted on blankets known as "mantas" in Ciudad Juarez, a city across the border from El Paso, Texas. Those messages, apparently posted by rivals of the Sinaloa drug cartel, accused officials of protecting the Sinaloa organization.

It was not clear if the messages in Chihuahua and Ciudad Juarez were related.

"This sort of message will not stop us from continuing the fight to bring peace back to this state," Chihuahua Interior Secretary Graciela Ortiz said.

The threatening message against Duarte comes amid threats to the governor of Nuevo Leon, another northern state bordering Texas. Two of Gov. Rodrigo Medina's bodyguards were mutilated, killed and dismembered in June.

Height Saves Life of CHCH Editor!

by Rev. Austin Miles

God knows every life from beginning to end and takes everything in between into consideration. Chip McLean,a founder* and editor of Capitol Hill Coffee House has no doubt that God had His Hand on him on Tuesday June 21st when he almost lost his life in a freak accident during a storm in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Because of the wind and heavy rain, visibility went down to nothing. He slowed down, and a tree crashed down on his Ford Explorer SUV, caving in the driver's side of the car. McLean was knocked out and bleeding.

College student, Tim Gayton, 19, saw it happen, stopped, rushed over to the vehicle and broke a window to get him out to safety.

In an email to me, Chip said that he was still sore and tired, but otherwise OK. "Someone was looking out for me that night" he wrote.

You bet He was! Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose."
God sees every life from start to finish. When he sees something ahead that will be harmful to one of his children, he sends His Spirit ahead to that future happening, surrounds it making it become His will and then brings good out of it.

Chip's height seemed to have been orchestrated before his birth. He was 5 feet 6. Had he been taller, six feet or more, he would have been killed. And there is no doubt that God sent that young college student, at that precise moment, to rescue him from the crushed vehicle.

Chip was right in his email when he said, "Someone was looking out for me, that's for sure." And God was obviously looking after him before he was born.

Chip McLean is still recovering and looking forward to getting his popular news service back up to date. Visit his news site at: capitolhillcoffeehouse.com

*Lauren McLean, Chip's wife, was co-founder with him of Capitol Hill Coffee House.

Sex On The Brain

MilesEye View of Saturday News July 2, 2011
by Rev. Austin Miles

Male Testosterone Eruptions (MTE) has increased in rising intensity, erupting world wide without restraint in a runaway growing epidemic. No anti-eruption weapons are available in this cheat & tweet era of the secular world. The church, maybe. The world, no.

As if the natural drive isn't powerful enough, a male enhancement product called, Viagra is flying off the shelves in order to increase the eager action associated with MTE
.
While undergoing heart tests this week, your writer was instructed to not use Viagra for 72 hours before the procedure.(!) They were told that the drug was not used at all since it was not needed.

Now hold on there….we can see the wheels turning in the minds of all the wits out there…now stop it!!

Sex is on the brain…and everywhere else, according to this morning's news reports. Former governor of the State of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, attempting to become the next Father of Our Country, is being divorced by his wife, Maria Shriver, for overdoing his expertise in foreign relations. She filed the divorce papers yesterday.

Yep, the Terminator is being terminated without being able to say, "I'll be back!" or even, "Hasta La Vista Baby!" Prideful of his physique and muscle power, he didn't have the strength to keep his belt buckled.***

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former IMF leader and leading contender to become the next president of France is seeing his own sex case accusations not only fall apart, but the case itself may be thrown out.

Apparently there was no rape or attempted rape of that housekeeper. He proclaimed that a consensual Clintonesque pathology was exercised that is really NOT sex, citing a case that brought international attention to the debate about what "is" is. So Strauss-Kahn has been un-restrained. Men, arise! ***

It's not just the men sharing a romp in the hay with those outside their marriage. Florence Hendeson, the wholesome apple-pie mid-western mother figure who starred on Brady Bunch has revealed that she also experienced an out-of-marriage exploratory adventure and got crabs from former Mayor of New York, John Lindsay. Enough already! It's time to scratch this subject.

Chris Hansen, host of NBCs "To Catch a Predator' where he sets up men with underage girls, at least that is what they think is happening, and are captured by the cameras and cops when they show up for the 'date.'

The biggest catch of the day was Hansen cheating on his wife with a young chicadee 20 years younger than he. We wonder if he found himself sitting at that kitchen table when he came in? ***

World War II veteran and French Legion of Honor Medal recipient, Gerald Stewart, who died at the age of 95, lived in our area of Northern California. He joined the growing number of The Greatest Generation who are passing away daily. His Memorial Service was yesterday.***

Cathy Tabbi, a writer specializing in the environment and wild life, expressed her concern this morning about the polution of our environment that is affecting the health of everyone. She said, "You cannot pull one thread out of God's tapestry without unraveling the whole thing." Words of wisdom that we should all heed. I might use that in Sunday's service.

And that is the MilesEye View of The News for this day, Saturday, July 2, 2011.

Have a good and productive day…and…keep the faith.
